Fall is here…colors galore….

And with a subtle turn, our earth mother has launched us into fall. From fall harvests with pumpkins, squash and apples to colored leaves and walks in the woods—we get ready for what pleasantries winter may hold for us. It is miraculous how interconnected we all are—to each other and to earth mother and yet how independently we try to operate. I always thought it odd to see people complaining of the weather and the impending winter months this time of year. Winter is a time for natural renewal and deep, deep cleansing—a purification rite of great importance to us all. It is also a time for caring, sharing and loving and a preparation phase for the emergence of life. We all feel this intuitively and in some it is perhaps suppressed a bit more than in others.

                        

Kind of reminds me of a day just a short while back…..it was raining as I exited a building and I remember thinking to myself—how beautiful as I stepped out into the rain—breathing in its essence and feeling the caress of this energetically charged gift upon which all life depends trickle down my face. And I glanced back to see a man hesitating in the doorway with his daughter as if he was afraid to take her into the rain. Why does he fear the rain, I thought? I stood there and looked at him and noted his daughter tugging at his arm to move in the rain after me. As all Daddies do—this man eventually gave in and he and his daughter ran off laughing together. How wonderful I thought—strictures freed by the simple intuition of a child who, wanting to embrace nature, has taught her father—did he really listen and learn though? After they had moved on I stood and thought for some time.  We must all give in too—there is no other way to receive the teachings of our person and our earth mother with all her majesty. They are all there among her roots, shoots, leaves and beyond. Our inner child does know best—and age truly is an emotion. Live healthfully and whole with your family, children and our earth mother and be sure to embrace the fall colors the cool crisp air and the energy of our change.
